Gregg Spickler is a family-man who likes to stay busy. After meeting his future wife Emily and earning Bachelor's degrees together from the Culinary Institute of America, NY, Gregg understood there is no knowledge more valuable than first-hand experience. They then traveled the country exploring all things food and drink; from St. Mary’s Resort in Glacier National Park, to 10 Barrel Brewing Co. in Bend, Oregon he would hone his palate and sharpen his skill set from Coast to Coast. Gregg and Emily started Spice it Up Catering in Dallas, then Monster Kitchen & BBQ catering services with Jonathan Lincoln and Brent Moore during the Eagle Ford Shale boom in Cotulla, Texas, while serving as Executive Chef at Los Cuernos Ranch. As the boom subsided they traveled North to help open Hidden Cove Brewing Co. in Wells, Maine, responsible for building and executing the food, brewing and sales operations.
The call of Texas eventually beckoned him back to the South, where his entrepreneurial spirit led him to his next project. The Spicklers founded Winding Road Provisions LLC in Cibolo, TX. offering apicultural services and producing natural products utilizing the health benefits of beekeeping paired with CBD after searching for natural remedies to treat heart inflammation.
Gregg soon teamed up with Andrew Anguiano to form Southside Bottling Company LLC—a local soda manufacturer utilizing regional ingredients, and honey with a South Texas twist. The team built the brand sample by sample at fairs and local events. After taking on the Brewmaster role at Alamo Beer Company, Southside Craft Soda bottled its first batch at Alamo Beer in the spring of 2019 and now has three flavors available through its local grocer-HEB and continues to grow. Gregg proceeded to serve as Director of Operations at Alamo Beer Company, facilitating expansion, growth and developing a co-packaging program until he felt the need to dedicate more time to his growing daughters and expand his beverage consulting business-Winding Road Beverage.
As he found a niche in flavor development and recipe formulation, Gregg partnered with Jake Hill and Manny Escobar in Hill Beverage Co LLC. -a manufacturer set to make waves in the hemp and cannabis beverage market.
Gregg enjoys life with his wife, Emily Spickler-South Texas District Sales Manager for Toast Inc, and two daughters who participate in club volleyball and club soccer. When not in business or sports mode, the family enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with their dog Queso.
